The Adventure Begins {His Side}

This is the story of how I, Seamus, met mo bheanacht (Gaelic for: my blessing):

Why I Joined

To put it simply: I wanted to find a friend, a soul-mate, a wife. I was clear about my goal. I

had been praying for years that the Lord would provide me with a godly help-meet.

Someone who loved God, who would draw me closer to the Lord and serve Him with me.

Meeting Online

Neither Moriah nor I had paid for membership on the site, which meant we could only chat

whenever we were both online. Which, with an 8-hour time difference, was difficult.

It was Moriah who first contacted me. I don’t remember her exact words but it was

something to do with Ireland (since she saw I was from there). I began looking on her profile

and discovered she was perfect...almost! She was beautiful, her profile had good answers and comments, she seemed wonderful! But, she was in America. So far away! Nevertheless, we kept talking. Due to the site restrictions, we moved to other platforms, beginning with

Snapchat.

I loved talking to her. I laughed with her, loved hearing about her day and learning more

about her. I constantly asked for pictures of her on Snapchat. I liked her, but she just thought I was a bit of a creep! (Which probably isn’t entirely wrong!).

We continued talking for a couple of months before I had decided to talk a break

from social media to refocus for a while over the summer. When we began talking again in

September, she was her funny, sassy and lovely self. It was then, things got more serious.

DUN DUN DUN!

Back when we first started talking I had promised her a voice recording on her birthday. She heard my voice for the first time when I sent her a recording wishing

her a happy birthday. Little did I know at the time, but she loved it!

By the Lord’s guidance He brought us closer through an uncommon conviction we both

shared. This led us to talking on an app called Voxer, where I finally got to hear her beautiful

voice!!

Not long after, I suggested Skyping. We Skyped for the first time in December

2017, and have done so every day since. I remember how nervous I was; I was about to speak to this beautiful, funny, godly girl and wanted to impress her! Ever since that first call, I’ve grown every day in my love for her.

I was finally able to convince her to let me meet her in person in March 2018 (and it took even more convincing to make the two week holiday into a three week one.) I could say so much more about these trips and how our relationship has developed, but I’ll maybe leave that for another time. ;-)
